To access them, mouse over the "Playlists" button located above the list of songs. In the drop down menu that appears, just click on a playlist name to load that playlist. The list of songs and videos will refresh and begin playing automatically.
"Artist Songs" Playlist
When you first load an artist in ExploreTunes, the "Artist Songs" playlist is loaded by default, and contains a list of songs performed by that artist.
By default, the "Artist Songs" playlist is ordered by popularity, with the most popular song at the top. If preferred, you may display the songs alphabetically: Below the songs list, there is a "Sort songs by" selection field. Select the "Name" option to sort the songs alphabetically.
"Similar Artists Mix" Playlist
This is a playlist containing a mix of the top songs by the currently selected artist and artists in the Similar Artists list panel. Next to each song title is the name of the performing artist (in italics).
"Favorite Songs Mix" Playlist
This is a playlist containing the songs that have been saved as favorites in an ExploreTunes user account.1 The songs in this playlist are the same songs listed in the Favorite Songs panel, and may include a mix of artists.
When a song is selected from the Favorite Songs Mix playlist, the ExploreTunes page does not get reloaded to the artist performing the selected song. This is different from what the Favorite Songs panel does, where selecting a song will load the performing artist and then select the song.
"Live Performances" Playlist
This playlist contains live performance videos of the currently selected artist.
"Artist Interviews" Playlist
This playlist contains interview videos of the currently selected artist.
- When a playlist is loaded for the first time, the first song or video in that playlist is selected automatically and begins playing. When you leave a playlist for another one but then return to the previous playlist, ExploreTunes is smart and remembers your last played song or video and selects it instead of the first one, so you don't have to remember what you last played.
- To play a different song in a playlist, simply click on it. This will both select the song and begin playback.
- During playback a "playing" icon (►) appears next to the song name currently playing.
1 Only logged in users may view or save favorite songs. Click here for more information about user accounts and login.
